The Redbridge Education Awards 2024 were hosted on the 25th May at Fairlop Waters. With over 650 nominations from staff working in education settings across the borough.
A new category this year was "Digital Innovator" and proud winner was Joanne Martin of Little Heath School.
Quote from the award submission. "She (Jo) won because her school were proud to nominate her for her dedication and innovative approach to special education. Joanne has not only embraced the knowledge of digital technology but has utilised it to open up extraordinary opportunities for Little Heaths SEND ( Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) children, empowering them to explore and connect with the world beyond their classroom walls".
One of the key technologies Jo has embedded into the school curriculum is "video conferencing". Working with global content partners and schools around the world her pupils have been given new enrichment opportunities to connect to and meet the wider community.
