Report 1

Introduction :

This is the Blue Yeti. It is a broadcasting mic used when streaming, gaming, podcasting, or broadcasting. It elevates your streaming and recordings with clear broadcast vocal sound, whilst also having a range of various levels of amplifications, and entertains your audience with enhanced effects, advanced modulation, and HD audio samples. It is also portable if you have a USB port!

Size, Aesthetics and Customer:

The product’s weight is approximately 1.45 kilograms with dimensions of 12.45 x 11.94 x 29.46 cm. In addition to this, the microphone is available in a variety of four different colours such as: a dark blue, white, black, white, and silver, allowing numerous choices for the users. The fist and main option are a sleek, mattified azure with a slight shine, adhered with black details. In addition, there is a rubber grip at the bottom of the stand which stops the mic itself from moving around easily. This opts for an older audience; the targeted age group is late teens to adults as it is a delicate piece of equipment which if handled wrongly, may be broken. The customers are normally streamers, gamers, or people on podcasts as it will be extremely helpful in ensuring the clarity of their voice.

Safety and function:

This mic’s main function is to provide a clear audio to your podcast or live stream. It has excellent quality and blocks out any background when recording. The blue yeti has four different pattern settings for the audio. There is the cardioid mode, which the most popular, and picks up sounds directly in front of the mic and minimises background noises. This is perfect for voice overs and delivers a rich, full – bodied sound to your voice overs. The second mode is stereo mode which picks up the left and right panels of the microphone which gives you a wide and realistic sound. The third mode is omnidirectional mode which picks up sound equally all around the mic so it will give you a realistic experience. The last mode is the bi-directional mode which picks up sounds from the front and back of the mic, which is perfect to record two-person conversations. The blue yeti is very safe to use and can be used at any age, but it is advised to be used from late teens because of the delicate equipment.

Cost, manufacturing, and the environment:

The blue yeti cost is around £119 compared to the price of other microphones ranging from around £100 to £500, with many even going up to £1000! From all this data, £119 is a reasonable price for a broadcasting microphone. The price range is medium to high and does not vary with each colour. As well as having a 2-year money back guarantee, it also has free delivery (if bought by Amazon Prime). The blue yeti is the most preferred choice for most customers as anything below £100 does not have the same clarity but anything needing better clarity/quality would require you to pay a lot more.

This product was manufactured by a brand called ‘Logitech for creators,’ which states that they are certified as carbon neutral, and therefore on the path to becoming climate positive. With most of Logitech's product’s being manufactured in Suzhou, China, Logitech uses PCR plastic as its primary source of material. On top of being a lightweight and durable material, PCR plastic also reduces energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions during production. This material is also sturdy, standing about a foot long. Lastly, the fact that it is a USB mic makes it much simpler and a great first time buy!

Conclusion:

Overall, this is a very suitable product for late teenager to adults, involving a variety of different colours and features, whilst also being manufactured sustainably, environmentally friendly, and with a high product quality by Logitech. Along with having a reasonable price and sizing, is has a very versatile use and can be used for a variety of different recording scenarios such as mentioned in the introduction.
