Coping with Covid - Global Student Conversations

  Video Conferencing for Global Learning (VCfGL) is hosting moderated international conversations to provide students an opportunity to converse with peers around the world.  The topic for March 2021: 



Coping with Covid

 a chance for students from around the world to exchange stories of how their lives have been impacted by the pandemic

March 4 - students ages 9-11

March 9 - students ages 12-15

March 16 - students ages 16-19

For each of the sessions, VCfGL will match groups of up to four schools. A Zoom link for each individual session will be provided to the teachers registered for that session




Coping with Covid - student ages 9-11

March 4 - Thursday - multiple session to choose from

 a chance for students from around the world to exchange stories of how their lives have been impacted by the pandemic

  • Live Zoom video conference meetings

  • VCfGL will convene and moderate groups of up to four classes for each session

  • First session starts at 9:30am GMT-0, subsequent sessions start half past the hour

  • Last session starts at 10:30pm GMT-0.

  • Some guiding questions are listed below


Suggested questions for each site to be prepared to answer:

  1. How has the pandemic affected you?

  2. How has your school life changed since the pandemic started?

  3. How has your home life changed since the pandemic started?


Further ideas to prep for an informative and educational experience to answer the questions above:

  1. Readings of original poetry about the past year

  2. Share and speak about still photos that represent “my pandemic year in a single photo”

  3. Prepare questions to ask of other sites

  4. Musical compositions/and or performances

  5. In 5 years, what do you think you will remember most about the past year?
