How to use audio podcasts to support home learning.

Quick and simple wins: How to use audio podcasts to support home learning on Monday May 18th, 3.30pm (UK)/ 10.30am (NYS) with Dr Warren Kidd

In this live, free, real-time online webinar Warren explores simple ways to record and utilize audio to support the homework and home learning of pupils aged 10 -18 years. Audio podcasts can help add a richness to online content and can make the difference to the clarity of online tasks and the engagement of learners. As we are faced with the current global context of pupils home-learning, making podcasts to support this offers a simple but effective route to help capitalise on existing learning materials. Recording podcasts is actually very simple, and in this online session Warren will take you through simple tools and processes to get teachers maximizing the effectiveness of these opportunities while minimizing their complexity. Linked to homework, home-learning and other on-line tools, making bespoke audio podcasts can offer a very rich experience for learners. They can be recorded with digital tools that most teachers will own at home and used for a variety of purposes. In this session Warren will help with simple scripts and also explore opportunities to use podcasting for relationship and well-being building, instruction and messages, content production and assessment and feedback opportunities.

Warren’s approach to this is that with some simple principles and practices in place making podcasts can be relatively effortless and yet have a much greater impact over and yield for learners in these difficult home-learning times.
