On March 14th, Gearies Primary, Fullwood Primary, Highlands Primary, Churchfields Junior ,Manford Primary, Mayespark Primary, Glade Primary, Redbridge Primary, Fairlop Primary, Barley Lane Primary, Woodford County High School connected live over video conference with their local Metropolitan Police Officers. Over 300 pupils participated in total to speak to PCSO Alan Winston, PC Kimberly Gakhal and their colleagues.

The opportunity for schools to link with supporting professionals like the metropolitan police through video conference is invaluable. The interactivity is very good and the experience is a good substitute for a personal visit, something that is obviously much more challenging to achieve. Video conference offers schools a great experience for children and offers quality support on difficult topics like online safety.

Video conferencing is a very good use of police time. To connect with 10 + schools at the same time in one afternoon is amazing. It would take me over 1 week to get around to that many schools. It is also a good use of modern day technology.Quote from Ishaq, age 11 years, Gearies Primary School:
I think meeting the police and hearing the other schools present was a really good idea to build up our confidence online. There are too many people out there receiving No Caller ID callers, pop-up adds or ads that state tempting things and not reporting this or informing someone.
The schools and PC officers all made pledges and shared their "jigsaw poster" describing a positive action they plan to take to stay safe online.
