Schools Across Borough Meet Local Councillor

School Council members across the London Borough of Redbridge have been meeting termly to discuss common issues in their schools and practice skills in chairing meetings via multipoint video conference.

On May 21st, Roger Evans Councilor for the London Borough of Redbridge, and newly appointed Deputy Chair for the London Assembly was invited to Ilford County High School to speak to the primary and secondary school council members on the theme of transport over live video link. Mr Evans, a member of the London Transport Committee, was able to take feedback from the students about transport for young people and answer questions about new and existing transport systems across London.

Mr Evans answered questions from the students about his career and what inspired him to join the Greater London Assembly and Politics.  He too was once a school council member.

Students from Oaks Park High School, Woodbridge High School, Chadwell Heath Academy and Ilford County High School also had the opportunity to meet Mr.Evans and put their cases forward for improving transport for young people.
